Gene Haas, founder and owner of the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, will take the wheel of a Formula 1 car at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, participating in the iconic hillclimb on Friday, July 11.
The American entrepreneur will drive the Haas
VF-23, the chassis campaigned by the team during the 2023 FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
The event is part of the team’s celebrations marking a decade in Formula 1, which recently included their 200th Grand Prix milestone at the Canadian Grand Prix.
Haas will be joined by Team Principal Ayao Komatsu, who will pilot the 2024-spec VF-24. The pair recently completed a private shakedown together at Silverstone’s Stowe Circuit in preparation for Goodwood.
Kazuki Nakajima, Vice Chairman of Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe, will open the four-day Festival on Thursday by driving the VF-23. Race drivers Ollie Bearman and Esteban Ocon will take over across the weekend.
The team’s presence at the Festival includes a display in the Ballroom Paddock featuring the VF-16—the team’s debut car—and the current VF-25, fresh from the British Grand Prix. The event also aligns with Goodwood’s tribute to the
75th anniversary of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship.
