Formula 2 driver Sean Gelael will get a fifth outing with Toro Rosso this year when he kits up for duty in FP1 on the first day of the United States Grand Prix weekend.
The Indonesian driver, who lies 15th in the F2 championship with Prema Theodore Racing, did a similar stint for the Red Bull junior team last year at Circuit of the Americas.
This will not be the 21-year-old's first F1 outing of this season as he tested the STR13 for the team in Spain and Hungary during the course of the past year.
Gelael said of his opportunity, "I am super happy and excited to get things rolling again. I did FP1 in Austin last year so it’s a track that I know, even though it was a bit damp last year!
"The last time I was in the car was for the Budapest test, so I’m looking forward to working with the team again, hopefully, they’re excited as well. The form Toro Rosso is in after Japan is quite strong so hopefully we can keep this momentum going."
Gelael is the son of Indonesia multi-millionaire businessman Ricardo Gelael, owner of the Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise in the country.
