As the Formula 1 season races toward its thrilling conclusion, all eyes are on the battle between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris for the champion title.

With only six rounds left, Verstappen leads by 52 points, but Norris’s recent form and McLaren’s performance have set the stage for a nail-biting finale.
The current championship fight is as intense as ever, with Verstappen holding a sizable lead over Norris, but it’s far from over. McLaren has shown impressive pace, especially since the summer break, and Norris is making a strong case for a late-season charge.
This weekend, the United States Grand Prix kicks off a hectic triple-header that will also see races in Mexico and Brazil before another brief break.
One of the weekend’s biggest attractions is the Sprint Race, and the odds are heating up. According to new sportsbooks, Lando Norris is the favorite to win the sprint at 7/5 odds. His teammate Oscar Piastri follows at 4/1.
The current championship leader Max Verstappen is at 9/2. Charles Leclerc, the Ferrari star, has 11/2 odds. In case you want to use this weekend’s action, sportsbooks are offering a large set of promotions and bonuses, with an extensive list of legal sports you can choose from as well.

Verstappen is no longer the perennial Formula 1 favourite

If you look for more than just the Sprint, the odds for a Top 6 Finish show some pretty predictable favorites. For instance, Lando Norris is nearly a lock at 1/20, and Verstappen is close behind with 1/14. Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc share the same 1/14 and 1/7 odds.
When it comes to the Podium Finish, the odds get a little more interesting. Norris leads with 2/7, and Verstappen is slightly behind at 4/7. Piastri, the rookie sensation, also shares 4/7 odds, while Leclerc has 10/11–this might be tempting for bettors looking to back Ferrari’s chances.
Although Norris’s battle with Verstappen is the main storyline, McLaren’s real goal is the Constructors’ Championship. They’ve opened up a 41-point lead over Red Bull, which could be overturned in a single weekend, though many think it’s unlikely. McLaren’s been the fastest team on the grid since the summer break, and Ferrari appears to be their only realistic threat.
McLaren seems to have dominance over Winning Team betting odds. Their chances are 33/50. Red Bull, though still in the running, are much longer at 17/5, and Ferrari holds 7/2 odds. Mercedes lagged behind at 7/1. If you’re thinking of placing bets, McLaren’s form gives them the clear edge, but Red Bull's hunger for a comeback might create a more unpredictable outcome.

Red Bull’s Formula 1 driver dilemma

Red Bull’s future lineup is another intriguing storyline you can follow as the season comes to an end. With Sergio Perez struggling, young Liam Lawson has been given the opportunity to prove himself in the final six races. Lawson filled in for Daniel Ricciardo when he broke his hand last season and now has a chance for a more permanent spot in 2025.
The big twist? If Lawson outperforms expectations and Perez keeps underdelivering, Red Bull may promote the young New Zealander to race alongside Verstappen next season.
Yuki Tsunoda, Red Bull’s other junior driver, is also looking to make a case for himself, but Lawson now seems to have the inside track. It’s a high-pressure situation for the 22-year-old, but one with enormous potential.

FIA versus the drivers on swearing is a silly matter amid a great season finale

Beyond the on-track battles, there’s also drama brewing off the grid. Verstappen recently clashed with the FIA after being penalized for swearing during a pre-race press conference in Singapore.
The Dutch driver refused to follow FIA’s regulations and that sparked the tension, with Verstappen hinting that these ‘silly’ rules could shorten his career in F1.
The situation escalated when Verstappen found an unlikely ally in Lewis Hamilton, who also criticized the FIA’s handling of the issue. It’s interesting to see the two most influential drivers in the sport united against FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem.
Right now, Lewis Hamilton’s career with Mercedes is in the final stages. After six seasons of racing success and seven world championships, Hamilton will join Ferrari in 2025.
