FIA joins UNESCO’s Fit for Life Network to combat racism in sport
The FIA has joined UNESCO’s Fit for Life Network Against Racism, marking a strategic partnership aimed at tackling racism and discrimination in sport. The initiative aligns with the FIA’s United Against Online Abuse (UAOA) campaign and strengthens its global commitment to inclusivity, equality, and safety.
Launched at the 4th UNESCO Global Forum Against Racism and Discrimination in Barcelona, the Fit for Life Network brings together global partners including La Liga, the Barça Foundation, and the RISE network. The FIA joins as a founding member, contributing its research expertise to support policy-making and education efforts.
Mohammed Ben Sulayem, FIA President and UAOA Founder, said: “This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in our shared commitment to fostering inclusivity, respect, and equality in sport. By combining our knowledge and resources, we believe this initiative can drive real, meaningful change.”
The FIA’s UAOA campaign has revealed alarming trends. According to its 2025 Online Abuse in Sport Barometer, 50% of abuse aimed at athletes in 2024 was misogynistic or racist—up significantly from 2023.
Aauri Bokesa, Spanish Olympic sprinter, welcomed the partnership: “This is a powerful platform to amplify my voice and promote inclusion, equity and safety in sport.”
Philipp Müller-Wirth of UNESCO added: “UAOA’s expertise in addressing online abuse will play a critical role in our fight against racism in sport.”
The collaboration offers a unique opportunity to shape inclusive global policies and foster lasting change in the sporting world. The FIA is Formula 1's governing body.

Record-breaking grids to headline 75 years of Formula 1 celebrations at Silverstone Festival
Silverstone Festival from 22-24 August will mark 75 years since the first Formula 1 World Championship Grand Prix with a record-breaking grid of 500cc Formula 3 cars — the same type that supported the inaugural race at Silverstone in 1950.
A full-capacity field of 54 diminutive single-seaters, selected from 64 entries, will take part in the special anniversary race, with further rare and iconic models displayed in the paddock. The grid features drivers from ten countries and 24 manufacturers, including unique examples like the Larkens, Petty, Jason and Mackson.
Cooper, the dominant marque of the period and pioneer of rear-engined design, will be strongly represented. Notably, the Cooper T12 that made history in the 1950 Monaco Grand Prix as the first rear-engined car to start an F1 race will return, restored to its original 500cc spec.
Two Iota P1s — the car in which Wing-Commander Frank Aikens beat Stirling Moss to victory in 1950 — will also take part, along with other notable names such as Emeryson, JBS and Kieft.
Nigel Challis, Chairman of the 500 Club, said: “The response to this special race has been absolutely incredible.”
Event director Nick Wigley added: “It will be a huge highlight — the sound and smell will be hugely evocative.”
The Festival also features the debut of the World Champions Collection, showcasing cars from all 34 Formula 1 title-winners, alongside races for Masters Racing Legends, Group C sportscars, and more.
Early Bird tickets are available until 31 March.
Aston Martin and Curv unveil AMR-C01-R: a next-level racing simulator limited to 50 units
Aston Martin and Curv Racing Simulators have revealed the AMR-C01-R, a refined evolution of their original high-end simulator, limited to just 50 units and featuring cutting-edge upgrades in design, hardware, and immersion.
Building on their 2020 collaboration, the AMR-C01-R features the same carbon fibre monocoque and signature Aston Martin Racing grille, now paired with a revised Valkyrie-inspired seating position for improved ergonomics—especially for taller users. Enhancements also include a redesigned switch panel for better accessibility and a new grille that aids cooling.
Marek Reichman, Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer, said: “Curv’s latest simulator is an exciting continuation of the AMR-C01. With improved performance and a seating position inspired by Valkyrie, this is as close to driving an Aston Martin on-track that a racer will experience.”
The simulator introduces top-tier hardware, including a 49-inch G95C monitor with 1000R curvature, a 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and HDR10+ Gaming support for vivid realism. A powerful NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU and Intel 14th-gen processor drive the experience, supported by 32GB DDR5 RAM and 2TB SSD storage. The newly designed chassis improves cooling and allows for future upgrades.
Darren Turner, founder of Curv and a three-time Le Mans winner, said: “We’ve refined the ergonomics and performance to make it even more immersive, intuitive, and future-proof. For those who demand the very best, this is the ultimate racing simulator.”
The British-built AMR-C01-R is priced at £58,750 (plus tax), with deliveries beginning in April 2025.
