Today is the final day of the 2026 Formula 1 private test, or shakedown, that is being held at the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya, and it will be a busy day.
Out of 11 F1 teams, eight should be on track testing their 2026 machines, as Friday will be their last chance.
Williams, as we all know, are not attending after issues with the production of their FW48 and will be ready for Bahrain's first official preseason test on February 11 based on what James Vowles said...
Mercedes have concluded their running as well as Racing Bulls, so both of them will not be in Barcelona on Friday.
Mercedes have enjoyed a strong test, as both George Russell and Kimi Antonelli racked up the miles in the bulletproof W17, which ran for 502 laps over the three days it was on track.
Racing Bulls also had a decent shakedown with their VCARB 03, delivering a respectable lap count of 319, with the brand-new Red Bull Ford power units impressing in terms of reliability.
Who is running on Friday?
Aston Martin, after running a handful of laps in
the AMR26 on Thursday, will be busy on the final day with Fernando Alonso taking over the driving duties on Friday morning. Lance Stroll gave the car its debut.
Red Bull Racing will also be running with Max Verstappen in the cockpit, who will be hoping for a clean, rain-free day.
The Milton Keynes squad were hindered by Isack Hadjar's crash on Tuesday and did not run for two days as they got spare parts to fix their RB22.
Ferrari will also be running and have enjoyed a solid test so far, as McLaren looks to make up for limited running on Friday after suffering from fuel system issues that interrupted Oscar Piastri's time in the car.
Cadillac and Audi will both be looking to do some mileage in their cars after a far from ideal start to their tests.
Haas are back on track with Oliver Bearman in the driving seat, while Alpine are also running with Pierre Gasly doing the driving.
