Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali continues to criticise the lack of testing in Formula 1, and is keen to convince rival teams to change the situation.
Quoted in the latest edition of F1 Racing, Domenicali said, "At the end of the day it is ridiculous that we are not able to use this track [Fiorano]."
Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo and the team's star driver Fernando Alonso are avid opponents of testing restrictions that prevail in the current era.
"I use the example to my chairman [Luca di Montezemolo]: it's like going to play a football match after just watching the simulation on the computer. We were too far a couple of years ago and we are now too far on the other hand. So now, with the other teams, we try to convince them that we need to find another balance. And I am positive we can find a solution," claimed Domenicali.
The question of increased track time for testing the 2014 V6 turbo engines is currently a hot topic, and although the FIA's technical delegate Charlie Whiting said earlier in the season that there is no provision for extra testing for the new power units, there is a lobby by the engine manufacturers to find a window of opportunity to test the new units this year.
