Ferrari Launches Hypersail Project: 100-Foot Flying Yacht

Ferrari has unveiled Hypersail, a pioneering offshore sailing project led by Giovanni Soldini that merges cutting-edge yacht design with the Prancing Horse’s high-performance engineering.
The 100-foot monohull, designed by Guillaume Verdier, will be the world’s first of its size to fly on three contact points while operating entirely on renewable energy.
Drawing directly from Ferrari’s Hypercar endurance expertise, Hypersail serves as both a sporting and technological R&D platform, exploring aerodynamic, power management, and control systems developed in Maranello.
The yacht features a canting keel supporting one of the foils, with rudder and lateral foils forming the remaining support points. Ferrari has already filed nine patents and confirmed six more in progress. The yacht will generate all energy via solar, wind, and kinetic sources, with no combustion engine onboard.
Launch is planned for 2026. Chairman John Elkann called the project a “technological horizon-expanding challenge” aligned with Ferrari’s Le Mans-winning DNA.
