In the aftermath of a tumultuous 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix, the post-race spotlight burned bright on McLaren's massive fumble as well as Max Verstappen's sheer brilliance on the night. What about Ferrari?

It's a mess at Maranello, Lewis Hamilton enduring his worst Qualifying on a wet Friday night in Las Vegas, the worst of his illustrious career. In the other car, Charles Leclerc struggled to P9. Then on race day, thanks to the McLaren double-DQ, Leclerc went from P6 to P4 with Hamilton recovering to finish P10, which became P8.
Amid the smoke of McLaren grenading themselves, the question of what happened to the Reds at Sin City needs answering. Despite the damage limitation by their drivers, something is very much amiss at this Ferrari.

Profondo Rosso column. This is how he summarised the Las Vegas weekend from a long-suffering Tifosi perspective. Starting with that woeful Qualifying.
Turrini wrote: "When you hit rock bottom, you can always start digging. This is the melodramatic case of Lewis Hamilton. Never in his career had the Knight ended a Q3 in last place, barring accidents or mechanical failures.
"What can you say? This time, it will be blamed on the Las Vegas lights, on yellow flags, on whatever you like. But one thing, unfortunately, is certain: Lewis is right when he describes his first year in Red as “a nightmare."

Formula 1's Union of the Century is flopping

Hamilton's move to Ferrari, announced early last year, and finally coming to fruition when he began his 19th season in Formula 1, the most successful driver of our sport uniting with the greatest team in Formula 1. Shares soared, column inches were predominantly Red ahead of the historic season,
But 22 races into the union, the cracks are glaring, and all is not well at Maranello under Fred Vasseur's watch. And their great hope in Hamilton has not been repaid.
Turrini said of Hamilton: "Yes, he is making history. In a negative way. And I understand the frustration of the man himself, the only one, I imagine, who knows the truth. Let us hope the answer inside him is not the wrong one "
Regarding the crisis engulfing Ferrari, Turrini is exasperated by his beloved team: "Frankly, I no longer know what to say, despite all the presidential remarks, which were unfortunate, I repeat. A gloomy fourth place among the constructors.
"52 points fewer than Mercedes and a solid deficit also to Red Bull, who only have one functioning driver. The issue, with all due respect to those who stubbornly sold smoke and handed out alibis for months, is brutally simple. Can we trust this staff with 2026 in mind?
"I fear the answer is inevitable. Meaning: We must resort to blind faith, because by choice there are no alternatives, and in the worst case, it would already be too late anyway. Courage. This Via Crucis

Verstappen is a giant and Antonelli is becoming one

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - NOVEMBER 22: Max Verstappen of the Netherlands and Oracle Red Bull Racing and Andrea Kimi Antonelli of Italy and Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team talk on the grid during the F1 Grand Prix of Las Vegas at Las Vegas Strip Circuit on November 22, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Looking back on the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Turrini opined: "Norris has built himself a great opportunity but Verstappen is right next to him. Sainz was sensational. Piastri disappointing. Leclerc is doing what he can. The indestructible Fernando Alonso. Sadness for Antonelli.
"Super Max’s Sunday is yet another confirmation. I fear he will have to give up the throne, but the Champion is him, the Dutchman.
"Kimi’s Sunday, my Emilia-born Harry Potter, was simply extraordinary. Moreover, the five-second penalty, which I found unfair, did not stop him from finishing ahead of Leclerc.
"Kimi undoubtedly still has a lot to learn, and he will certainly make more mistakes in the future (his qualifying was not exactly exemplary, eh). But we have an Italian diamond on the starting grid and I am happy about that," Turrini signed off with his latest Profondo Rosso post.
