Max Verstappen warned that, in order for him to secure a fifth consecutive Formula 1 Drivers' Crown, he and Red Bull Racing must deliver the same performance they had in Austin.
Verstappen basically made a clean sweep over the course of the
2025 United States Grand Prix, taking pole for both the
Sprint Race and the Grand Prix while also going on to win both races.
With both McLaren drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, crashing out on the opening lap of the Sprint Race and with the Briton finishing second and the Aussie finishing fifth in Sunday's Grand Prix, Verstappen is now 40 points behind Piastri in the 2025
F1 Drivers' Championship, a gap that reached as high as 104 points before the summer break.
"It was a perfect weekend and I think the start was key today," Verstappen said of his Austin weekend. "The pace wasn't magic but we got a good start on the first stint and Charles got in the middle of myself and Lando which helped a lot and as soon as Lando was in clean air he was very fast.
"We just did the best we could and tried to manage our tyres in the best way possible even though they were overheating a bit.
"This performance was exactly what we need until the end of the season to fight for the title," the Dutchman insisted. "The Team has done a great job, I'm having fun and it's exciting for everyone.
"The performance of the car has been better and we need to keep the momentum going. We really maximised everything with the points and we need to continue having these perfect weekends until the end of the season.
"I am very happy to win again," the four-time F1 Champion concluded.
Verstappen has now won three of the last four races and was only denied a win by Mercedes' George Russell at the Singapore Grand Prix, where the former finished in second place.
