Formula 1 is set to turn up the volume in Austin this weekend with the launch of its new pre-race entertainment series, F1 Grid Gigs.

F1 Grid Gigs is presented by American Express, debuting at the 2025 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas.
The concept brings live music directly to the grid before the lights go out, adding a new layer of spectacle for fans both trackside and watching worldwide.
The initiative follows the success of the F1 75 Live season-opening concert at London’s O2 Arena, which drew over 7.5 million viewers across F1’s social platforms.

Austin debut celebrates local roots

Fittingly for the self-proclaimed live music capital of the world, the first Grid Gig will feature Texas-born country singer Drake Milligan. Known for hits such as Sounds Like Something I’d Do, Honky Tonkin’ About, and I Got a Problem, Milligan will perform on the starting grid moments before the drivers leave their garages to begin race preparations.
Milligan said: “I’m thrilled to be performing at the Grand Prix in Austin, TX! There’s nothing like the energy of this city during race weekend and I’m looking forward to being a part of it.
"It’s the perfect stage for live music with the roar of the engines and the passion of the fans. I can’t wait to bring some country heat to the Circuit of The Americas.”

F1 promises adrenaline before lights out

Formula 1 Chief Commercial Officer Emily Prazer described the new show as an evolution of the race-weekend experience: “There’s nothing like the energy of a Formula 1 grid as the world gets ready for the best drivers to go head-to-head.
"F1 Grid Gigs presented by American Express will elevate one of the most anticipated moments of a Grand Prix weekend.
"This new pre-race show has been designed to capture and celebrate the thrill of the grid and give fans in the stands and at home a taste of adrenaline and exhilaration before we go racing.”
Following Austin, F1 Grid Gigs will return at the Las Vegas Grand Prix later this season, where another world-class artist will perform on the Las Vegas Strip before the lights go out.
