Formula 1 has confirmed that no team or organisational personnel have tested positive for Covid-19, with more than 4,000 tests administered prior to the Austrian Grand Prix.
Anyone travelling to the Red Bull Ring for the first race of the season was required to take a test, with F1 providing 4,032 tests to drivers, teams and personnel between 26 June and 2 July.
Further tests will be administered every five days while events are ongoing to ensure there is no spread of the virus within the paddock.
“The FIA and F1 can today confirm that between Friday 26th June and Thursday 2nd July, 4,032 drivers, teams and personnel were tested for COVID-19,” Formula 1 said in a statement.
“Of these, zero people have tested positive. The FIA and F1 are providing this aggregated information for the purposes of competition integrity and transparency. No specific details as to teams or individuals will be provided by the FIA or Formula 1 and results will be made public every seven days.”
