Aston Martin have emerged as the 7/4 favourites to hire Christian Horner should the former Red Bull boss return to Formula 1, according to bookmakers.
Ferrari were previously the frontrunners at 6/4, but the announcement of Fred
Vasseur’s multi-year contract extension on Thursday has shifted the odds dramatically. Horner’s chances of joining the Scuderia have drifted to 10/1, making a Maranello move far less likely in the short term.
Horner was
dismissed by Red Bull earlier in July after a long and controversial tenure, sparking speculation about where he might resurface. Aston Martin now lead the market, a potential reunion with Adrian Newey seen as a logical destination for the experienced team principal.
Cadillac, set to enter the grid in 2026, sit second in the betting at 9/2, followed by Alpine at 16/5 and Williams at 6/1. Long-shot possibilities include Mercedes and McLaren at 33/1, while Horner returning to Red Bull’s junior team, Racing Bulls, is priced at 50/1.
An AceOdds spokesperson commented: “Opportunities in Formula 1 have become more limited for Red Bull’s former team principal Christian Horner after Ferrari and Fred Vasseur put pen to paper on a new multi-year contract on Thursday. A reunion with Adrian Newey at Aston Martin is the most likely option for Horner at odds of 7/4.”
