Ferrari have yet to win a race so far this season, and although the team is firmly focused on their 2017 car, the lack of a victory in this campaign clearly irks team boss Maurizio Arrivabane who is adamant they have the resources to win.
Speaking ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, where Sebastian Vettel won last year and venue of the Italian team's last F1 victory, Arrivabene said, “At certain tracks for sure we are going to have the chance. In other places, we can fight really really hard. But I’m confident that we can make it.”
Like most teams on the grid, Ferrari have the majority of their resources at Maranello focusing on their 2017 project.
“We have been working on [the 2017 project] for a couple of months now, as everybody is doing because you have completely new rules, completely new aero," explained the team boss.
“And don’t forget about the new engine regulations, because without the tokens, you have the freedom to develop the [power unit]."
Nevertheless the team still has a job to do this season where they are in a battle for second place in the constructors' championship with Red Bull.
In May the energy drinks outfit won a race with Verstappen in Spain, breaking Mercedes' stranglehold. A Ferrari driver has yet to stand on the top step of the podium in 2016.
"All the company is moving forward in that direction, without forgetting 2016. We have the resources, we have the money, and finally we have the people. We have to do it,” declared Arrivabene.
