Fernando Alonso is looking forward to this weekend's Formula 1 race at Hungary where he won his first ever race, hoping to bounce back from a "challenging" British Grand Prix.

It has now been two races since Fernando Alonso stepped on the podium, last time was Canada, with Aston Martin now facing challenge from McLaren in addition to Ferrari and Mercedes, as they all fight over the second place behind Red Bull and Max Verstappen.
After finishing seventh at Aston Martin's home race at Silverstone, Alonso is looking forwards to this F1 weekend at the Hungaroring, a place that brings some great memories for the Spaniard, winning his first race back in 2003.
Back in 2021, still driving for Alpine, Alonso delivered one of his best performances, with his stern defense against Lewis Hamilton who was chasing Esteban Ocon. Needless to say, Ocon wouldn't be a one-time F1 race winner had it not been for the trouble Alonso caused Hamilton.
"I think we extracted the maximum from a challenging weekend at Silverstone," Alonso said. "It was great to be racing in front of the British fans and also to spend some time at the new Technology Campus.
"We now switch our focus to Budapest," he added. "I have many good memories of racing at the Hungaroring. I won my first ever race in Formula One in 2003, exactly 20 years ago, and it's often the venue where I have celebrated my birthday.
"It'll be strange to celebrate that this year in Belgium, but let's hope we have something else to celebrate this weekend.
"Overtaking isn't easy here, but sometimes there are very strange races with unpredictable weather, so we have to be ready to capitalise and score as many points as possible," the double F1 Champion concluded.
Ahead of Hungary, Aston Martin have dropped to third in the F1 Constructors' Championship, 22 points behind Mercedes. Alonso is third in the Drivers' Championship 16 points ahead of Hamilton in fourth.
