Fernando Alonso claimed it would be difficult for all Formula 1 teams to agree on changes to the regulations in order to sort out the "porpoising".
Some teams and drivers - Mercedes in particular and both its drivers - have been echoing their concerns regarding "porpoising" the bouncing phenomenon that has afflicted the 2022 F1 cars.
George Russell claimed it was a safety hazard, while his teammate Lewis Hamilton struggled to get out of the car after the race in Baku, while Daniel Ricciardo insisted the seven-time World Champion was not exaggerating.
The
FIA announced on Thursday that it will be taking steps towards limiting the bouncing out of concern for the safety of the drivers.
Fernando Alonso - who hasn't been complaining about the quality of the ride of his Alpine - claims it will not be easy to get all teams to agree a change in regulations.
"Our car is quite good at managing the bouncing effect of this year's cars," he said. "I didn't feel it too much in Baku and we were more focused on managing tyre degradation, especially of the rear tyres.
"It's going to be different at each circuit, for example in Jeddah it was very smooth, and Australia as well, and nobody said anything there.
"It's going to be very difficult for all of the teams to agree on change," the Spaniard insisted.
Alonso will be contesting the Canadian Grand Prix for the 17th time this weekend, a race he has won only once back in 2006 with the same team he drives for now, but under the Renault moniker, as he went on to win his second World Championship.
He is currently 11th in the 2022 Drivers' Championship with 16 points, having suffered from two DNF's in Jeddah and Imola.
