Formula 1 teams will still have to agree unanimously to the introduction of altered tyre compounds at Silverstone late next month.
Pirelli announced in a statement on Wednesday that teams will try the changes in Friday practice in Montreal next weekend, "in order to provide some testing time before any new range of tyres is introduced".
"Following feedback from the teams and drivers, the new specification of tyre is then set to be introduced from the British Grand Prix," added Pirelli.
But a Pirelli spokesperson clarified that, following the Canada trial, teams will still have to agree.
"(The Canada test) gives everyone a chance to test them and hopefully all agree," she said. (GMM)
