F1 2022 Drivers & Teams
After the events of last season, a lot of people are expecting that there will be some resentment between Verstappen and Hamilton. However,
both sides have denied this, although it’s not a surprise that they will publicly deny they have any issues.
Verstappen is one of the most protected drivers in F1 at the moment. Red Bull always makes sure that their driver is the main man. This means that whoever his teammate is, they will have to be content with a position as an afterthought.
Although he won the Drivers Championship last season, he’s still the underdog behind Hamilton. This is especially more likely if the rumours about the improvements that Mercedes have made to their car are to be believed.
Verstappen is still an extremely skilled and aggressive driver though. If Red Bull is able to provide a competitive car this season, then even if he doesn’t manage to win the 2022 F1 championship, he’s still going to push Hamilton all of the way.
Lewis Hamilton
Hamilton is a divisive figure within F1. His skills cannot be doubted, but not everyone likes his attitude. Regardless of any personal feelings about Lewis Hamilton, he’s one of the
highest-paid sportsmen on the planet for a reason.
It’s why Mercedes continues to offer him high-quality contracts and puts him forward as their figurehead. Despite losing out on the Drivers Championship last season, Hamilton is expected to compete at the top of the standings again this season.
He’s expected to have a faster car this season, which will push him to new levels. Between his top-tier driving skills and the top-tier car that’s on offer, Hamilton and Mercedes should be a winning partnership again this 2022 F1 season.
George Russell
George could be one of the breakout drivers this 2022 F1 season. His performances at Williams last season really raised some eyebrows in the F1 world. Although it’s obvious that he will be sitting as the second driver at Mercedes, the culture there is very different in comparison to Red Bull.
If Russell performs to a higher standard than Hamilton over the course of the season, then don’t be shocked to see Mercedes give him the chance to achieve greatness himself.
This wouldn’t happen at Red Bull, with Verstappen the obvious favorite no matter what the conditions. Russell may not have the experience to challenge Hamilton this season, but there’s no doubt that he has the potential to do so in the near future.
Mick Schumacher
It goes without saying that almost everyone in the F1 world wants Schumacher to succeed. His father was one of the greatest drivers of all time after all. It would be fantastic to see him go on to honor his family name and become an elite level driver.
Although it’s definitely too soon for this to be the case this season, there is lots of potential for Schumacher to show what he can do on a big stage.
Although he is part of the Ferrari academy at the moment, his move to Haas will result in Schumacher competing in a faster car this year than last year. He is unlikely to trouble the top places in the standings, but he should put in a better showing this 2022 F1 season.
