Al Dhaheri Wraps Up FRECA Season, heads to Macau Grand Prix

Emirati driver, Al Dhaheri, competing in his rookie FRECA season, delivered consistent performances throughout the 10-round championship, including podium finishes in Hungary (P2), France (P3), and Italy.

His results came against older, more experienced rivals, underlining his maturity and rapid development as part of Mercedes F1 Team’s Junior Driver programme, a landmark move announced in March that marked a milestone for UAE motorsport.

At the season finale at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza from 24–26 October, Al Dhaheri showed strong pace through the weekend. After placing P3 in his qualifying group to start Race 1 from sixth on the grid, he fought through a difficult start to recover to P5 at the flag.

In Race 2, contact with another competitor on the opening lap hampered his progress, yet he completed the race with determination, rounding off a campaign that highlighted both speed and resilience.

Earlier in October at Hockenheim, Al Dhaheri endured a challenging weekend affected by setup balance and mixed conditions, finishing both races in P12. Despite this, his adaptability and data feedback proved vital experience for the next phase of his development.

Next on Al Dhaheri’s schedule is the prestigious 72nd Macau Grand Prix from 13–16 November. Returning to the 6.12 km Guia Circuit, he will aim to build on his remarkable 2023 result when he became the first Emirati to stand on the Macau podium with a third-place finish.

Macau’s narrow, high-speed street layout is renowned for punishing errors and rewarding precision. Combining his previous experience with growing confidence from a successful FRECA season, Al Dhaheri now targets another standout performance on one of the world’s most iconic racing stages.

Following Macau, winter testing is planned in Italy and Spain as part of Al Dhaheri’s continued preparation for 2026. His 2025 performances have confirmed his standing as the leading MENA single-seater prospect, a young driver combining talent, discipline, and the long-term backing of Mercedes F1 Team.
