Lewis Hamilton was given a five-second time penalty following the 2025 Singapore Grand Prix, which meant he dropped from seventh to eighth.

Hamilton was on a late charge up the order after a second free pit stop for Soft tyres as he was targeting the position of Kimi Antonelli, who ultimately finished sixth.
Hamilton passed his teammate Charles Leclerc on the way but then started suffering from brake issues, with TV footage showing black carbon dust coming out of his front left wheel.
The seven-time Formula 1 Champion then dropped down the order but managed to keep Fernando Alonso at bay to cross the finish line in seventh.
Alonso was furious over the team radio regarding Hamilton's driving around with no brakes.
Hamilton was then summoned by the stewards for breaching track limits several times, a violation the Briton was committing as he tried to keep his car on track.
As a result, he was penalized with a five-second penalty, which promoted Alonso to seventh.
The stewards said in their judgement: "During the hearing, the driver confirmed that he left the track at several occasions. He was trying to manage a brakes issue situation.
"This being said, after further investigation, and in accordance with the list of exemptions foreseen in the Driving Standards Guidelines, the Stewards considered that this was not a justifiable reason and apply the usual penalty for such type of infringement.
"This was not contested by the team representative nor the driver," the stewards concluded.
