Max Verstappen insisted the latest row between his father Jos and Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner could've been avoided.

Reports emerged over the course of the Austrian GP weekend, Horner has vetoed the participation of Jos Verstappen in a parade organized by Red Bull's Austrian headquarters.
Despite Horner denying the reports, Verstappen Sr withdrew from the parade and was quoted byt Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Verstappen saying: "Over the past few days, I have heard from several people that Christian Horner did everything he could to make sure I didn't drive.
"And to otherwise make sure nothing would be filmed. Then I think: say it to my face. This way I don't want to do it anymore, I find it very disappointing," he added.
Verstappen, Max that is, reflected on the saga, that came in a time when the situation at Red Bull Racing, following Horner's scandal earlier the season, calmed down a bit.
He said: "Naturally, of course, it is not nice, for myself, for my dad, for Christian or the team. Of course, I don't want these things to happen.

Verstappen: My dad doesn't actually care

"My dad has been quite clear about the reasons behind it and of course, I can understand his opinion on that because, at the end of the day, he gets asked to drive the car and finds out he is not wanted to drive the car.
"Well, my dad actually doesn't care, but he was asked to drive it for the Dutch fans. Red Bull - we have a great relationship with the whole track.
"And I understand the other end is to focus on performance that it takes, so I want a good relationship with everyone, but of course, this scenario could have been avoided," the triple Formula 1 Champion concluded.
Red Bull Racing's driver consultant Dr. Helmut Marko, a known ally of the Verstappens was asked about the matter in Spielberg.
Speaking to Sky DE Marko said: "Well, we've actually decided to concentrate on the sporting side and have enough problems there, and sort that out - and that, I would say, is a private matter between Jos and Christian, and that shouldn't really take place at all about such banal things as a show run.
"We must and will concentrate fully on the sport," he added. "We have a very strong opponent in McLaren. Although we have a reassuring lead, this has mainly come about because the competitors behind us have taken over from us.
"That is now crystallizing, there is only one left - and I think that is task enough," the Austrian concluded.
