The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) manages the Formula 1 World Championship which is owned by the organisation and includes two World Champion titles: one for drivers and one for constructors.

The Championship consists of Formula 1 Grand Prix races listed in the Formula 1 calendar, with ASNs and organizers having signed agreements with the FIA to host these events. All involved parties (FIA, ASNs, organizers, competitors, and circuits) are required to adhere to the Championship’s governing rules and must possess FIA Super Licenses issued to drivers, competitors, officials, organizers, and circuits.

Championship Regulations

The rules governing the Championship include:

  • The International Sporting Code (the “Code”)
  • The Formula 1 Technical Regulations (the “Technical Regulations”)
  • The Formula 1 Sporting Regulations (the “Sporting Regulations”)
  • The Formula 1 Financial Regulations (the “Financial Regulations”)

These are collectively known as the “Regulations.” Any new system, procedure, or technology that isn’t specifically mentioned in these regulations but is allowed by the FIA Formula 1 Technical Department can only be used until the end of the championship in which it was introduced.

After this period, the Formula One Commission will review the technology. If they determine it doesn’t add any value to Formula 1, the FIA may prohibit its use. If a team’s technology is prohibited, the team must then publish full technical details of the system or procedure in question.

The F1 racing rules describe everything from the available systems in the car to the rules for their use. However, there are also non-game, but very important aspects, such as managing documents and records. Any motorsports must maintain the privacy and security of information.

Nowadays, more and more leagues and competitions use mobile faxing apps for this purpose – a replacement for outdated fax machines. Fax apps are suitable for information tracking, secure transmission and offer notifications when documents are received.

The First Official Car Race

The 1894 Paris-Rouen Trial, the very first competitive motorsport event

The first official car race took place in 1894, covering 80 km between Paris and Rouen with an average speed of 16.4 km/h. The following year, America held its inaugural race from Chicago to Evanston and back.

By 1900, speeds had increased to 80 km/h, making road races hazardous for both participants and spectators. This led to the construction of dedicated race tracks, starting with Brooklands in England in 1906. Iconic tracks like Monza (1922) and Montlhery (1924) followed.

Monza, in particular, has a special place in racing history, hosting numerous prestigious events such as Formula 1 and the FIA World Endurance Championships. It’s a track that inspires passion among racing enthusiasts.

With another convincing 1-2 finish at the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Red Bull has demonstrated utter dominance in the opening races of the 2023 Formula 1 season. Sergio Pérez clinched victory, while Max Verstappen, starting from P15 due to a driveshaft issue, secured P2. This performance underscores that Red Bull’s RB19 is the car to beat this year.

Despite some frustration from Verstappen’s camp, Red Bull has amassed all available points so far, leading the World Constructors’ Championship with 87 points over Aston Martin and Mercedes, who each have 38 points. Red Bull’s advantage is evident, and other teams’ chances of winning seem slim unless Red Bull encounters significant issues.

Red Bull’s consecutive 1-2 finishes to start the season are historic for the team, marking it as the fifth team with the most 1-2 finishes (24 in 349 races). They are also only the second team in the 21st century to achieve this feat, highlighting the RB19’s extraordinary performance.

F1’s Best Ever Driver: Hamilton or Schumacher?

F1 continues to develop: the rules are supplemented, the requirements are modernized, new records appear – all this is work with documents. Everyone involved in document flow must comply with the rules of confidentiality and privacy. It’s not that difficult, but you need to be guided by the letter of the law. In this case, all document flow will be streamlined, protected and optimized.
