There is a significant on-track change at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for the 2023 Spanish Grand Prix. They have removed the awkward final chicane and reverted the track layout to its previous configuration.

The sweeping right-hand bend, which made up the final corner before 2007, will be back in action. These alterations are intended to make the race more exciting.

Also, new TECPRO barriers will be introduced in the last two high-speed corners. The official length of the Catalunya track will be 4.657 kilometers, 18 meters shorter than the previous one.

Other changes include widening the run-off area in Turn 1 to include 70 meters of gravel and a 5% slope. There will also be a new fence to protect Turn 1 and 2 and enhance driver safety.

The venue will also remodel the scoreboard at the pit lane exit to include a more modern signaling tower. The curbs and tire barriers will also be repainted and replaced.
