Red Bull revealed a fan-created livery for this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix, Round 5 of the 2023 Formula 1 World Championship – the first of four races in the USA this year – the honour of doing the artwork on the RB19 going to long-time fan Martina Andriano.
Runaway championship leaders, with Max Verstappen topping the F1 drivers’ standings after four rounds by six points over teammate Sergio Perez, are unbeaten so far this season prompting their Red Bull team to make a mark in Miami this week, with an exclusive fan-designed livery.
The RB19 will roll out looking a little different after Red Bull handed over the design tools as part of the Make Your Mark campaign. The fan-led competition saw members of The Paddock, Red Bull’s free loyalty programme, given the opportunity to design the livery for all three USA races this season. T
The team said: “This is a special moment for Oracle Red Bull Racing as the Bulls have only run six one off race liveries in 19 seasons in the sport. In a first for Red Bull, the paints were handed to their most loyal followers and Argentina’s Andriano’s creation was picked from thousands of entries.
“The judging panel was headed up by Team Principal and CEO Christian Horner and included representatives from the Team’s Title Partner Oracle; Principal Team Partner, Bybit and Technology Partner, Mobil 1.
“Both Max and Checo’s cars will be decorated in the striking pink, blue and purple design, which was the brainchild of Graphic Design student Martina. The winner has been flown to Miami to see her design in person and experience a weekend trackside with the World Championship-winning team.”
There is a very, very good chance that livery will be rolled into P1 at the end of the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday, maybe even P1 and P2 if current dominant form is anything to go by.
