Former UFC executive joins Williams as Chief Revenue Officer

Former UFC executive joins Williams as Chief Revenue OfficerWilliams have hired Paul Asencio from mixed martial arts company UFC as chief revenue officer overseeing the Formula 1 team’s commercial and marketing operations, they said on Thursday.

Asencio, who also worked previously for the New York Mets in Major League Baseball, will join on Monday and be based in the team’s New York office.

“Formula One is on a massive growth trajectory and I’m happy to be a part of it,” he said in a statement.

The sport has three grands prix in the United States this season and Williams are owned by U.S.-based private investment firm Dorilton Capital.

They also have the sport’s sole current U.S. driver in rookie Logan Sargeant.

Williams Racing is pleased to announce that Paul Asencio will join the team as Chief Revenue Officer. Paul’s role, which officially begins on 10 April, will see him leading the commercial and marketing operations of our Formula 1 team.

Based in the team’s New York office, Paul arrives at Williams Racing after more than five years at UFC as Senior Vice President, Global Partnerships, where he was responsible for commercialising all revenue streams.

Prior to UFC, he fulfilled senior business development and corporate partnership roles at Fanatics and Major League Baseball side, the New York Mets.
