Verstappen reveals new helmet for 2022 F1 season

The Red Bull driver revealed his new lid design, tweaked with extra gold which he will use starting with testing in Bahrain later this month, with miniatures already available from his personal merch-store.

Verstappen said during the unveiling: "As you can see, it features a bit more gold. Even the text ‘gives you wings’ is in gold, so that looks really cool. The lion on top is now fully in gold and of course, I now have the number one, on the rear spoiler.

"I decided to not change the design a lot, but to change the colours a bit: the parts that were red previously, are now basically fully gold. We improved some details. I also asked for a little star on the back, for my championship win.

"With all the small upgrades and the gold, I think my 2022 helmet looks cool. I hope you enjoy it as well!" concluded Verstappen, who will put aside his trademark #33 to make way for the #1 which he is entitled to carry as reigning F1 Champion.
