The 2022 F1 season will see an increase in races. Next season, the race calendar will have an additional race added as Formula 1 has 23 grand prix scheduled.

The FIA’s World Motor Sport Council approved F1’s record-breaking grand prix schedule which will start in March in Bahrain and end eight months later in Abu Dhabi.

The F1 2022 season will feature a three-week summer break. The race league’s season will finish on 20 November just over a month before Christmas.

Which races were omitted from the F1 2022 schedule?

Three races have been omitted from the upcoming F1 2022 schedule. The Portuguese, Styrian, and Turkish Grands Prix races have not been included in the 2022 race schedule.

F1 added the trio of Grands Prix races to the 2021 fixture list due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They allowed F1 to have enough races to crown a F1 champion.

While the races in Portugal, Austria, Turkey were omitted from the new schedule, F1 has brought back the Australian, Canadian, Japanese, and Singapore Grands Prix races. The quartet of races were left off the F1 schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Qatar Grand Prix has been omitted from the calendar for 2022 but will return in 2023. The Qatar race will be skipped allowing the country to concentrate on the FIFA World Cup.
