Haas boss Guenther Steiner has revealed that the team are yet to receive an update from the World Anti-Doping Agency amid an ongoing investigation into their VF-21 livery.

It was reported earlier this month that WADA were looking into the team’s new livery due to the similarities it has with the Russian flag.

Driver Nikita Mazepin is required to race under a neutral flag following a Court of Arbitration for Sport ruling outlawing Russian athletes from competing in world championship events.

The ban includes “any national emblem or other national symbol of the Russian Federation, including without limitation, on their clothes, equipment or other personal items”.

Asked for the latest, Steiner said: ““No there is no update. As we said we’re always in contact with the FIA, so we’ll work it through.

“Nikita, you could see he’s running what I call a white flag, no flag basically, as by WADA regulations.”

When asked by Motorsport.com for comment earlier this month, the FIA said “the CAS decision does not prohibit the use of the colours of the Russian flag”.
