COVID-19 continues to strike the Formula 1 paddock with latest victim Williams’ acting team principal Simon Roberts, who has tested positive and will be on sick leave during the forthcoming Turkish Grand Prix.
The team released the following statement:
“Simon is feeling otherwise well but will now isolate for the required 10-day period as per UK national guidelines whilst supporting trackside operations remotely this weekend,” the Williams F1 Team said.
“Dave Redding, team manager, and chief engineer of vehicle design, Adam Carter, will assume his responsibilities on the ground in Turkey.”
Roberts was tested positive on Wednesday ahead of his trip to Istanbul, where he showed symptoms of the virus.
