Robert Wickens posted a video on Twitter showing him in therapy during rehabilitation and admitting he is a paraplegic as a result of his horrific IndyCar crash in Pocono earlier thus year.
Wickens wrote on Twitter, “Did my first slide transfer as a paraplegic today. My upper body is getting stronger everyday. I’ve only been posting videos of the small movement in my legs. but the reality is I am far away from walking on my own. I’ve never worked harder for anything in my life. More to come!”
The 29-year-old from Canada established himself as an IndyCar star in the making during his rookie season with Schmidt Peterson Motorsport and despite missing the final three races of the season he scored enough points to earn the 2018 IndyCar Rookie of the Year award.
