Highly rated designer James Key is set to join McLaren as technical director in the latest round of big changes at Woking amid the team's worst spell.
Key, 46, is leaving the same position he held at Toro Rosso, and will begin his tenure at McLaren after a period of 'gardening leave' has ended, when this will be is unclear.
Meanwhile, engineering director Matt Morris has resigned from McLaren.
Morris was one of the three-man technical leadership team set up by former racing director Eric Boullier who has since departed the team and replaced by Gil de Ferran.
The team's chief technical officer Tim Goss departed in April. Morris has now left which leaves only head of aerodynamics Peter Prodromou who by all accounts will remain.
