Toyota Gazoo Racing finally winning the Le Mans 24 Hours after 20 years of trials and tribulations was a supreme team effort in which they left no stone unturned at the 86th running of the fabled endurance race as they embarked on the race knowing that it was there’s to lose.
But this time they ticked all the boxes and adding lustre (and substantial column inches) to the victory was the inclusion of Formula 1 double World Champion Fernando Alonso in the winning #8 Ts050 he shared with ex-F1 drivers Sebastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima.
Above is a glimpse behind the scenes exclusively shot by Toyota photographers with access few others had to the heart of the team during the 24 hours of their quest and eventual triumph.
