History was made at the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix when Max Verstappen powered to victory, becoming the youngest driver to win a Formula 1 race in what was also his debut for the Red Bull team.
Before the race in Spain, the teenage sensation was promoted from Toro Rosso to replace Daniil Kvyat at Red Bull. Many thought it was step too soon for the young Dutchman, but he proved them all wrong and that victory is now part of the sport’s folklore.
Also not to be forgotten was the spectacular collision on the first lap between title contenders Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton in the dominant Mercedes team.
The GPI edition of the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix provides a colourful reminder of a momentous and drama packed weekend in Barcelona.
