Alfonso Celis will be on duty for Force India on day one of the United States Grand Prix weekend at Circuit of the Americas.
The team wrote on Twitter: “The #USGP FP1 session sees the return of a known face to our garage – @FonsoCelisJr will be in the car for the weekend’s opening session.”
Celis will replace fellow Mexican Sergio Perez for the 90 minute morning practice session on Friday in Austin.
He has previously had FP1 outings in Bahrain, Russia, Austria and Italy, as well as test days with the team.
With Nico Hulkenberg departing Force India for Renault next season, Celis is on the list of candidates to replace the German.
