Button and Magnussen don wigs for a good cause

McLaren drivers Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen are getting behind CLIC Sargent’s Wig Wednesday campaign by donning a brace of hot pink bobs.

The fundraising event, run by CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, today invites thousands of people across the UK to don a wig for the day to raise money and show support for children and young people, who may lose their hair through treatment for cancer.

Jenson Button said: “The Wig Wednesday look definitely beats helmet hair – but, much more important, I’m happy to support Wig Wednesday 2014.

“CLIC Sargent does a fantastic job helping children and young people with cancer, and Wig Wednesday is a fun and simple way for people to show their support and raise money for this wonderful charity.”

Kevin Magnussen has also donned a hairpiece to pose alongside Jenson and show off their quirky new styles.

Kevin said: “I’d never heard of Wig Wednesday before – but, when it was explained to me, straight away I liked the idea of it.

“I gather that CLIC Sargent is a really brilliant charity, improving the lives of not only children with cancer but also their families, so anything that we at McLaren can do to help Wig Wednesday 2014, and thereby help raise funds for CLIC Sargent, is well worth doing in my view.” (Press Release)
