Jan.30 (Grand Prix 247) A collection of 19 photos – sourced from the peerless Sutton Images archives – depicting Rubens Barrichello driving in Formula 1 during his 19 year career at the top of the sport.
Barrichello made his debut at the 1993 South African Grand Prix and has since then made 322 F1 starts, amassed 11 wins, 68 podiums, 658 career points, 14 pole positions and 17 fastest laps.
He drove for Jordan, Stewart, Ferrari, Honda, Brawn GP and most recently Williams. Driving a Ferrari, he scored his first F1 victory at the 2000 German GP. The last time he won in F1 was when he triumphed at the 2009 Italian GP at the wheel of a Brawn GP.
Although Barrichello’s tenure in F1 appears to be over for now, the vastly experienced Brazilian could well be called up to substitute for a team, should the need arise, in the future.
