Jan.11 (PVM) Ferrari F1 team boss Stefano Domenicali has put the onus on the ‘official authorities’ aka FIA to make the correct decision on whether to race or not to race in Bahrain this year in the wake of renewed calls to boycott the race by activists.
Speaking at the Wrooom event Domenicali said, “I’ve heard there are a lot of rumours about the situation. We need to rely on the competent authorities. We have the international federations, we have relations with the country and we cannot rely on different sources of information.”
Last year the Bahrain GP was cancelled after violent protests in the island kingdom. This year the race is scheduled for the weekend of 20-22 April.
“We need to be very cool and realistic on that, so we need to wait and see and rely on what the official authorities who have this responsibility will tell us,” added Domenicali.
