Jan.4 (PVM) A leading F1 journalist has reported that Williams are in the process of auctioning their remaining 2012 seat to one of three candidates: Bruno Senna, Rubens Barrichello and Adrian Sutil – with one destined to end up as partner to Pastor Maldonado for the forthcoming season.
Folha de Sao Paulo journalist Fabio Seixas,` suggests that the Grove (UK) based team, which is beset with financial woes, is looking not only for a driver capable of doing the job required, but who can also bring along much needed cash.
Seixas argues: “Barrichello has the experience with 11 wins in Formula 1, 14 pole positions and has been around since 1993. Bruno Senna has all the potential from a marketing perspective and is a talented driver, but did not make the most of his chances he had at Renault last year. And then there’s Adrian Sutil, the German, who has an advantage because it has experience of five seasons, and could take sponsorship to the team.”
Seixas added that he believes Williams management will not rush into making a decision, and it will be some time before they reveal their second driver.
