Daniel Ricciardo gets bucketed

On Tuesday Daniel Ricciardo manfully stepped up to the plate and announced that he had accepted not one, not two, but three ice bucket challenges and that he’d take the chilly soaking at this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix.

And, true to his word, Dan appeared outside the Energy Station late this afternoon where obliging crew members, only too happy to help, dumped three bins of freezing cold Spa water over him.

The ice bucket challenge was launched in order to help spread awareness and raise funds in the fight against Motor Neuron Disease/Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain.

The challenge has been taken up by sportsmen and celebs around the world and this week Dan was nominated by Williams‘ Felipe Massa, IndyCar racer James Hinchcliffe and Australian AFL side Port Adelaide Football Club.

Once the water torture was done with Dan got to nominate three people to take the challenge, with the Aussie choosing our Team Principal Christian Horner, Mercedes‘ Lewis Hamilton and Ultimate Fighting Championship mixed martial artist Conor McGregor.

Nice one Dan, but we’re pretty sure that when people recommend taking the waters at Spa, this isn’t what they have in mind.
