Perez to get first taste of Force India VJM07 at Jerez 27 January, 2014 Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez Force India new boy Sergio Perez will be the first of the team’s drivers to sample the Mercedes V6 turbo powered VJM07 at Jerez on Tuesday when the first preseason test get’s underway. Perez will be on duty for the first two days, with Nico Hulkenberg taking over for the final two days in Spain. Both drivers are new to the team for this season, although Hulkenberg who drove for Sauber last year was Reserve Driver with the outfit in 2011 before being promoted to a race seat in 2012. For Perez this will be his third team in as many years, having driven for Sauber in 2011 and 2012, before his one year stint with McLaren ended with the Mexican driver apparently the scapegoat for a range of management errors wich resulted in the Woking outfit’s worst season in 30 years.
