Formula 1 fans gathered at the Spa-Francrochamps race track in Belgium in honor of injured Michael Schumacher on Sunday.
In a tribute to the F1 legend, fans walked around the fabled venue, which was one of Schumacher’s favorite race tracks and the scene of many of his great races during his illustrious career.
Spa-Francorchamps is where Schumacher made his grand prix debut, for Jordan, in 1991, and also where he won his first Formula 1 race a year later.
Schumacher celebrated on the top step of the Spa podium no fewer than six times during his career, and is the most successful Formula 1 driver in the circuit’s history.
The seven time World Champion remains in an induced coma in a Grenoble hospital following a skiing accident on 29 December.
Meanwhile Bild reports that more than 1,000 letters and gifts from around the world have been sent to Schumacher via his family.
Manager Sabine Kehm said, “The family is overwhelmed by the endless sympathy!”(GP247)
