Caterham working at maximum capacity preparing for Jerez 21 January, 2014 Cyril Abiteboul with Caterham’s 2014 drivers All indications are that Caterham will be present for the 2014 Formula 1 season opening test at Jerez de la Frontera which gets underway on 28 January. Team principal Cyril Abiteboul told members of the media during a function at Leafield, “We are in the final stages of the 2014 car build program and the whole factory is working at maximum capacity to prepare for the first test in Jerez, and tests two and three in Bahrain.” “There are numerous changes to the rules for 2014 and we wanted to bring people into our factory to help explain how we’ve tackled those rule changes, and demonstrate how the investments made by our shareholders and our partners are helping us prepare for the most important season in our still-young life,” he added. The team’s new signings Kamui Kobayashi and Marcus Ericsson will drive the car at Jerez, but it was not clear (at the time of writing) if Robin Frijns will get track time during the four days of testing in southern Spain.
