Kvyat impresses early on in his F1 adventure 26 November, 2013 Jean-Eric Vergne with 2014 team mate Daniil Kvyat at Interlagos Formula 1’s newest cool cucumber is Russian teen Daniil Kvyat, signed up by team owners Red Bull to replace Daniel Ricciardo at Toro Rosso next year Kvyat got an early start with practice outings in Austin and Brazil and he made an immediate impression, lapping faster than Red Bull-bound Ricciardo and also his new teammate Jean-Eric Vergne in the tricky wet conditions at Interlagos, and eighth overall. “He has big balls,” Helmut Marko observed delightedly. Indeed, Kvyat sounds cool and relaxed about his looming Formula 1 adventure, despite many paddock insiders worrying that the pinnacle of motor racing has arrived too soon for the 19 yr old. “The Formula 1 car is much faster than any other category,” he told Brazil’s Totalrace. “You need to get used to it and keep your concentration at a high level. “But once you understand what you’re doing, it is easier to put your technique into practice,” added Kvyat, who is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian as well as his mother tongue of Russian. “It is not so very different from the other categories. It’s not like it’s another planet.” (GMM) Subbed by AJN. Spartacus Let’s see how big your balls are come Monaco 2014! Boycotthehaters “Kvyat, who is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian as well as his mother tongue of Russian.” Another parallel to Vettel, who is fluent in English, French and Italian as well as German. By the time Vettel leaves RB, probably at the end of 2015, Kvyat will be ready to step into his shoes. AFA @Boycotthehaters I am sorry, but since when is someone considered fluent when he’s only able to speak and understand a little bit of a language that is not his mother tongue? Emm This article is incorrect. In Austin Ricciardo was three tenths quicker than him. In Sao Paulo Jean Eric Vergne was five tenths slower than him. Garth Emm Daniel Ricciardo was only 3 seconds quicker and that was Kvyats first outing, that in anyones book is very impressive. Daniel as I have said previously will seriously have to up his game in the Red Bull as Kvyat is the chosen one to partner Vettel in 2015. D.R .nice guy that he may be didn’t earn the seat he was considered better than Vergne and was promoted to allow Kvyat to hone his talent in the sister car for a season.
