Despite a typhoon threat in the build-up to the Korean Grand Prix, the first day of the three day weekend in Yeongam has been sunny with clear blue skies, but Ferrari are expecting a wet race day.

In their review of the first day of practice at the venue in Mokpo, the Maranello outfit reported, “The forecast for Sunday is for rain, but for now [Thursday] the Yeongam circuit is bathed in sunshine and the temperature is 20 degrees. Felipe Massa ended the second session in fifth place with a time of 1.39.114, while Fernando Alonso was seventh in 1.39.444.”

The report added, “The results were promising, but it could be for nothing if the rain does indeed arrive on Sunday.

In 2010, the first edition of the grand prix in Korea, rain bucketed down during the race and in 2011 it was wet during practice. (GP247)
