Felipe Massa, whom Ferrari have axed, and replaced with Kimi Raikkonen for 2014, is predicting fireworks within the team between the Finn and Fernando Alonso. The Brazilian should know as he has been teammate to both.

Speaking to TV Globo Massa claimed, “I know both Fernando and Kimi on and off the track.I rate them as excellent drivers, but I’m afraid they will collide when teamed up together at Ferrari.”

“I told the [Ferrari] chiefs to breathe as much as possible while they still can because it will be hard for them to breathe next season,” ventured the Brazilian who has won 11 times for Ferrari.

Massa and Raikkonen were teammates at the Maranello outfit from 2007 to 2009. Thereafter Alonso joined the team and Massa has had his role reduced to number two in the current line-up.

“I am pretty sure Fernando likes me. We have a nice relationship. I am sure he sees me as a personal friend, as I see him like that too,” ventured Massa.

He added, “Kimi and I are also good friends, I think much more than when we were teammates.”

Massa has been subservient to Ferrari team orders over the past years, and although he may be expected by the team to continue with the support role to Alonso’s title ambitions, Massa has other plans.

“I will not race for Alonso from now on. Right from Friday at Singapore I’ll be working for myself. I will attack all the time, every lap. It’s come the time to look after myself,” declared Massa.

The stance contradicts what Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo is expecting of the Brazilian in his final seven races for the Scuderia, “They say he won’t help Fernando? Please! He will definitely do so, giving us a hand for the Constructors’ and Alonso for the Drivers’ Championship.”
