Secret taped phone call could land Wolff in hot water 17 July, 2013 Toto Wolff It has emerged that an explosive conversation with Mercedes director and Williams co-owner Toto Wolff was secretly recorded recently by an Ex Formula 1 team boss. That is the claim of Bild correspondent Nicola Pohl who reports that the phone call was then transcribed and threatened to be used against the 41-year-old Austrian. She said the story is the latest chapter in a ‘war’ that has broken out in the paddock, following Mercedes’ ascendance to the very top of the F1 pecking order, and the ‘test-gate’ scandal. In the taped conversation, Wolff is thought to have spoken negatively about not only his F1 boss, Ross Brawn, but also the Daimler chairman Dieter Zetsche. He also reportedly spoke about the details of his Williams shareholding and his clashing duties at Mercedes, and his ‘complicated’ cooperation with Niki Lauda. (GMM) Subbed by AJN. The F1 officially reached a new bottom.. Achievement : tabloid-level accomplished. =El Presidente= Maybe the editors of this page could do something to balance it out a little. To also put some nice technical articles, about F1-cars, more detailed stories of the workings of DRS , ‘cokebottle’ , exhaust flows, tyres , helmets, pull- or pushrod suspension and other things I would for sure appreciate a section/column like that Lol. I don’t like toto wolf at all and if he has been slagging off his team members privately then that should be dealt with internally, but come on. Blackmail is illegal, for a start. Tornillo Amarillo GrandPrix247 saying this really… somebody should invent F1 news this week? Disgusting. Time for Mercedes to clean house and start over or just pull out all together. Toto Wolff and Ross Brawn has brought much shame to Mercedes. I bet Williams is glad Toto Wolff left. Despicable Mercedes Well I just read another piece and seems Mercedes is up to their eye balls in this as well as Mercedes has obtained a court order to keep the comments hidden. Despicable Mercedes just outright despicable. Mercedes has brought nothing but shame upon itself and the sport of Formula One. Mercedes is nothing but a bunch of liars and cheats. My name is @Despicable Mercedes I agree with you, but that’s not new ! Money and politics are the two main problems in F1… I hope Ecclestone will be out of F1 at the end of this year and that a lot of things will change next year (not only the motor !).
