Hakkinen says Raikkonen move to Red Bull is logical 23 May, 2013 Kimi Raikkonen with Mika Hakkinen Red Bull would be a logical next step for Kimi Raikkonen, according to fellow Finnish F1 world champion Mika Hakkinen. This week, Lotus’ Raikkonen effectively confirmed rumours Red Bull has made him an offer for 2014, admitting he has “two options” for his next Formula 1 contract. Hakkinen, a former double world champion, said Red Bull would be a wise move for his countryman. “We can see that Red Bull’s situation is quite a lot stronger,” the 44-year-old is quoted by Finnish broadcaster MTV3. “If there is a place open there, then yes, I think it would be quite logical,” added Hakkinen. But as Raikkonen pointed out, even moving to the team that has won the last three drivers’ and constructors’ championships on the trot is not a simple calculation. “Of course, they have won a number of years in a row, but next year the rules are changing,” he told MTV3. “It’s a bit of a lottery who will make a good car and who will not.” Related NewsRicciardo surprised by Lotus struggles with Renault engineRenault: It’s completely unacceptable to be coming to the first race as unprepared as we areSome teams will struggle to qualify in Melbourne if 107% rule is implementedRenault invites Red Bull, Caterham and Toro Rosso to Lotus ‘promotional event’ at JerezRed Bull and Vettel titles a formality now focus is on battle for best of the restWebber says the ‘first lap nutcase’ has atoned for his wayward drivingRaikkonen’s manager says 2014 talks with Red Bull still ongoingRaikkonen: My decision might feel right to me but stupid to somebody elseRaikkonen and Webber withdrawn from test due to restrictionsTug of war between Red Bull and Lotus for Raikkonen’s services Adam22 Renault factory engine + Andrian newey = Winning Car, can’t go wrong kimi!
