Vettel unlikely to make switch to Ferrari 13 March, 2013 Sebastian Vettel with Dietrich Mateschitz A trio of Formula 1 experts do not believe that Red Bull‘s triple world champion Sebastian Vettel will switch to Ferrari any time soon. One of them is the reigning world champion’s own boss, billionaire Dietrich Mateschitz. “Right now it’s not a problem,” the Austrian billionaire told Salzburger Nachrichten newspaper. For now, Mateschitz has Vettel under contract, but he acknowledged that the lure of Ferrari might one day become too strong. “If he doesn’t want to be with us anymore, it would be absurd to try to keep him because of a contract,” he admitted. “I have to say that, if I was a driver, my wish would be to drive for Ferrari.” Former Formula 1 driver Gerhard Berger agrees that Vettel should be in no current mind to switch from Red Bull. “One of Vettel’s qualities is his brain,” the former McLaren and Ferrari driver told APA news agency. “As long as Red Bull gives him the conditions he has now, it would be crazy if he thinks about something else. “It is a hundred times better to be world champion five times with Red Bull than never with Ferrari.” Formula 1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone, who is famously close to backgammon partner Vettel, couldn’t agree more. “Seb could stay at Red Bull his whole career,” he told Bild newspaper. “He’s happy there, they build him a top car every time. I would be shocked if he left.” Tweet Related NewsRed Bull marginalise Vettel ahead of his departureMarko predicts Alonso is heading back to McLarenThumbs up for Vettel to Ferrari from F1 paddockVettel replaces Alonso as Kvyat is promotedSilly Season: Alonso and Vettel future uncertainWebber thinks Vettel lacks feeling for carMarko: Mr Vettel is one of our most expensive itemsSilly Season: Vettel and Red Bull deny Alonso swapVettel buys a Ferrari California for father NorbertAlonso: Ricciardo was very, very smart – a great fight Forza Ferrari Who cares?! I don’t even want that spoiled brat to come to Ferrari, ever! This is none news. *yawn* Apex Assassin Lol, this article is a joke. Vettel is too smart to go to that floundering team. Maybe after Bryne’s return is felt, but now? Ferrari are being mismanaged into the midfield. Stoner @ Forza Ferrari: LOL I too don’t want to see another exceptional talent like Vettel going to an egoist team like Ferrari. They were the sole people responsible for Kimi’s 2 year sabbatical from F1. But Kimi showed these sore losers what talent is, after 2 years break, being instantly quick and by finishing 3rd in the WDC in a much slower car HAHA. Alonslow is the best suited man in this team, being the best opportunist in the grid and constantly whining and bitching about other drivers and teams, trying to work out his politics and not being able to get a single championship in three years at THE MIGHTY FERRARI, someone who described coming second in WDC last year as a perfect season, LOL. With the arrogance that this team and alonso has, nothing is going to work out for them any time soon in the near future.
