McLaren new boy Sergio Perez is relishing the early days with his new team, and is looking forward to final stanza of testing in Barcelona this weekend and fired up for the opening round in Melbourne next month.

How has the training been going over the winter break?
Sergio Perez: “My training has been improving a lot since I joined Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. We have been working on the fitness side and I think I have made good progress and we’re ready to start the season. Only a couple of weeks to go – but I am as fit as I’ve ever been!”

And how have the test sessions been developing out in Spain?
SP: “Testing is going well. Obviously we have issues like any other team at this stage of the season but I think everything is going in the right direction so it is quite important for us to keep going and keep progressing always in the right direction.”

What’s the general feeling about the season opener in Australia and the start of the 2013 season?
SP: “I love being in Australia, first of all I love the city, I love Melbourne. Everyone is looking forward so much to the start of the season so it’s always great when you get there – it’s a great atmosphere and the circuit itself is always good racing. It’s a very good circuit, I really enjoy it. It has some fast sections, some very slow, you are sometimes very close to the wall – so it’s easy to make a mistake as well. I think it’s a very complete Grand Prix.”

He put his McLaren hat on and now he’s suddenly WDC material

    Mexican retard.

  • Durptron5000

Racism much?? No offense but if a guy like Button is WDC material I seen no reason Segio won’t be if not this year soon, his podium performances last year showed me more than anything that deep drive he has to win, he’s a racer, he’s not there to play it safe. Consistency does leave something to be desired but that could somewhat be down to the Sauber too!

  • Butterfly

Not racist, just don’t like this particular Mexican, hence I hesitate to call him Perez.

Regarding Button being WDC material, I would say Vettel is the weakest Champion on the grid, followed closely by Button. These guys can’t drive f*uck unless the car is just right – not unlike Hamilton, Alonso, Raikkonen.

I hope that clears it up for you.

  • David

He will do great races and if every team shows a high tyre degradation he will be again the only driver with the possibility of having normal races and win.

  • Tamburello_1994

No Butterfly that doesn’t clear anything up. Not sure what his nationality has anything to do with your overall point.

Durptron5000 called it right. Walks like a duck.

  • Mark

    @Madame Butterfly

You just hate anyone who isnt called Alonso, Alonso’s dick, Alonso’s thonge, right?. Doh, since when girls know shit about F1? I mean, focusing about nationality instead of performance.

  • Butterfly

I admit calling Perez just “Mexican” is a bit over the top, and maybe I shouldn’t have done that, but he’s still a rubbish driver.

Regarding Alonso’s body parts, are you sure you’re not the one who’s interested? You sure talk about that a lot.

Girls can talk about F1 just like guys can. Same brain, you know, part of same species, just a bit different anatomically. I probably understand F1 much better than most of you retards.

    Have a nice day.

  • Nowhereman

Well, thats what we have races for; to see who is the best at any given moment.
Perez will fit McLaren nicely as a #2 driver.
He will surprise some people this year but, he is not WDC material at the moment.

  • Mark

    @Madame Butterfly

“I probably understand F1 much better than most of you retards.” everything you said for the last 10 months is: “omg I love Alonso, omg Alonso is my heart, omg Alonso is the best, Alonso my world, Alonso should race alone so he can win, Alonso i fking love you”. Anyone who actually understands F1 should be faaaar away from underestimating racers the way you do: “kimi is an ass”, “lewis cant do shit”, “fingerboy’s luck”, “jenson’s a no-one”, “the mexican”. Try cooking instead or doing laundry, seriously.

Alonso and Hamilton are way above the rest, it’s true.

I don’t have to agree with jerks like you that Vettel is awesome just because he’s the reigning WDC, or that the rookies are WDC material just because they’re rookies.

I’m not going to turn a blind eye to the fact that our “Champion” can’t drive in traffic or that he loses his temper everytime he sees a car in front of him. That guy has the mind of a 10yo.

When Jenson Button won the WDC in 2009, I remember Felipe Massa saying Button’s the weakest champion on the grid. Well, Vettel is even lower than that, and he’s got 3x WDC.

As for the young talents, they’re a dime a dozen as far as I’m concerned.

To me, this is the dark times of F1, without a doubt. You only have two top-notch drivers in the whole field (Alonso & Hamilton), an abundance of crappy rookies with so much arrogance that it makes their heads pop – Pic & the Mexican are prime examples – and it’s because of the heavy backing from their sponsors.

The two premier teams in F1 are bleeding: McLaren’s management is probably retarded to let Hamilton and Lowe go, while the red team can’t find a proper car designer to replace that Greek. Sometimes I think their designer probably has something on the bosses because I can’t see why he’s still “designing” Ferraris.

To continue with The Dark Times, the technical regulations are more like “technical restrictions”. And, of course, the rubber on the tires is the cheapest piece of crap to ever be fitted to a race car, much less a grand prix car.

Don’t complain again about my admiration of Alonso, that’s none of your business.

    Have a nice day.

    In one post you say:

“I admit calling Perez just “Mexican” is a bit over the top, and maybe I shouldn’t have done that, but he’s still a rubbish driver.”

In your very next post, here’s you again:

“Pic & the Mexican are prime examples”

Your claim is that you’re not a racist but it appears your only gripe with Perez is he’s a “Mexican”. Strange contradiction. I really don’t give a goddamn who you like or don’t. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But I got a question for you; What’s really the difference between a Spaniard and a Mexican?

Your logic is flawed at best. Racism at it’s worst.

  • Butterfly

I am not racist, but I enjoy calling him “The Mexican” even if it’s a bit over the top.

    Are you happy now?

Either way, I’ll continue calling him that.

  • Tamburello_1994

    That’s your answer? Really?

Not only are you racist, You’re ignorant. Only a complete idiot would post drivel like that. Period.

  • Mark

to The Spaintard ignorant aka butterfly:

You say “Don’t complain again about my admiration of Alonso, that’s none of your business”, but you call jerk to whoever supports Vettel/Raikkonen LOL (one has won more WDC than your stinktard and the other is the best racer atm except for Lewis maybe, Kimi and Lewis are true champs) it gets better: you call a jerk to anyone who doesnt support your countryman. How fking retarded are you? Rly… No wonder everyone else around yalla calls you an idiot xD, seriously, every person around has called you an idiot at least once LOL.

Your racism and ignorance towards this whole situation proves my point: girls and retards know shit about F1 ;D

Instead of insulting Kimi, Lewis, Jenson and Vettel supporters, why dont you make something useful for your beloved Spain and try this thing called WORKING… less time trolling, more time WORKING. That way you wouldnt be so mad at Germans, Mexicans, British and Finnish ;D

  • Butterfly

    Get lost, idiots.

  • Mark

    hahahaha BURN!!!!
