Barrichello to decide on Indycars or stock cars for 2013

Rubens Barrichello (BRA). Formula One World Championship, Rd19 United States Grand Prix, Race, Austin, Texas, 18 November 2012.Dec.11 (GMM) F1 veteran Rubens Barrichello says he is torn between staying in Indycar next year or returning to his native Brazil to contest the premier stock car series full-time.

Barrichello made his Indy debut in 2012 but was believed to have run into sponsor trouble as he pushed for a second season next year.

In the meantime, he has contested a few rounds of Brazil’s stock car series, and according to Agencia Estado news agency, Barrichello is now considering a full season in 2013.

“I’m torn between Indy and stock car,” Barrichello, 40, said. “I think we will make an announcement soon.”

He admitted that he would have liked another season in the US, in order to build on the lessons learned in 2012.

“I’d like to put into practice what I’ve learned,” said Barrichello. “But it may be nearing the time to go home, for my children. Anyway, I’m in a good situation, because I am able to choose as far as how I work.”

Brazilian driver Caca Bueno claimed on Sportv television that Barrichello will indeed contest the full 2013 stock car championship.

I still think there’s room for him in f1 Williams would undoubtedly have scored more points with him in 2012, replacing Bruno or Pastor. Force India need an experienced driver too and so do Toro Rosso

I think its because he is a gamble and not sure if he can still perform since he didnt help much for Williams. Clearly Senna and Maldonaldo have been faster. Lets face there young and fearless.

    Barrichello has kids and wife…family.

He did nothing in Indy Cars and short of having a few gimmy wins in F1, he really did nothing. He seems like a nice guy but he is done in F1 and Indy cars. Let him race with the left overs like Burti, Bernoli, etc. He will be fine in Brazilian Stock cars. Until he starts complaining about something…

Barrichello really wasn’t all that good. Mid level is about all. He wasn’t called the Tortoise for nothing. Seriously, I have seen turtles go faster than him. And they were DEAD!!!
