Grand Prix International 9 May 2012 Edition

Grand Prix InternationalMay 9 (Grand Prix International) Early May is always a bittersweet month, no matter what year, as we are confronted with memories of two fatal accidents which stole from us two of the sport’s most loved stars – Ayrton Senna (1 May 1994) and Gilles Villeneuve 8 May 1982) – we did our Ayrton homage in the last issue and this week we pay tribute to Gilles.

Two very different drivers, from different generations and totally opposite backgrounds, yet united by the fact that racing was in their blood.

We also have a most interesting Fernando Alonso ‘very unplugged’ piece as the Spaniard comes up with some talking point quotes when engaging with his social media fans!

We stick our necks out and declare Romain Grosjean as the ‘real deal’ and say watch the Frenchman become a household name – make that world champion…

Speaking of which Michael Schumacher is still slagging off this Pirelli’s latest offerings, while laughing all the way to the bank as the second highest money earner in the history of sport – only a Tiger has banked more cash than the seven times F1 champ. Among a host of goodies we also preview Spain. Enjoy!

Note: We have decided to make this week’s PC Download Version available for free – one last time. Meanwhile for iPad users you can by single editions or save and take out a subscription.
